Well traveled in the pampering world

I don't usually leave reviews, but since someone was untactful and said names, I'm impelled to do so. Especially, since one name she mentioned happens to be a young lady that impressed me more then once. I travel often and receive spa services from varies cities. Baton Rouge being one of my more dull stops I always have time to indulge or freshen up. First off, Let me say that Mary at Paris Parker is hands down one of the best brazilian waxer's I've had wax me. If you have ever been waxed you'd know it's uncomfortable and she makes you feel at ease with ultimately doing a thorough job. Secondly, Ive received 3 facails and each time she went over time. She explained how they are given extra time on their books after each facial for cleaning up and often uses it. That doesn't sound like a person who would do a 40 minute facial. Thirdly, you'd be an idiot not to pay $24 for their brow service. I have seen a variety of their girls(Mary, Linda, Sasha, and exct..) for brows and have been beyond pleased every time. I first received compliments on my brows when they did them. I've been getting my brows done since a teenager and have never been complimented till they touched them. I've had great experiences!

horrible customer service and overpriced

I have been going to Paris Parker for many years now and the customer service and spa services are only going downhill. i used to get my waxing and facials done by Thi who was very sweet, and attentive....unfortunately she resigned and i'm still trying to locate her. I tried many of the other girls and everyone you go to is very inconsistent with their facials. i once went in for a 60 minute facial with Mary and came out 40 minutes later.. i felt very rushed and another time i heard my facialist Maggie talk bad about me to the other workers when she thought the door was closed! i have yet to come back and have told everyone i know that the services are not up to par.

• Cons: gossipy workers, $24 eyebrow wax?!! bad customer service

Great haircut and color

I went in for the first time recently, I love AVEDA and just moved to town. I checked around and decided to go to Jami and Lauren at the Paris Parker Spa on Jefferson Hwy. These ladies did an amazing job and were very professional! Thanks!

Peter is Awesome

I have been getting my hair cut with Peter at the Jefferson location for 3 years now. Even after moving to Texas, I still come back in at least twice a year to have him cut it. He is a perfectionist, and probably, hands-down the best layering/blending/texturizer out there. After straying a couple of times (out of local convenience), I have come to appreciate his talents even more, and the level of detail he puts into his work.

At Jefferson, Miss Linda's Massage is Great!

Love Miss Linda at Jefferson location. Her massages are awesome. As someone else said, the manicure/pedicure workers are really aggravating. All they do is gossip, and talk, loudly. I have never had my hair done there but have had several friends complain and never go back.

Great Staff

I've been totally happy with all the services I've received at the Jefferson location, this includes color, cuts and spa treatments, like facials and waxing. For all of those of you who seems to have had a bad experience you should try again. I would like to thank everyone at Paris Parker because for there friendly and energetic attitude and a special thanks my peeps there LeAnn in the salon and Maggie in the Spa!

Salon and spa offers hair and nail services, as well as bodywork, facials and more using Aveda products.

go somewhere else

I recently had a cut and color at this location. I paid through the nose and got the worst cut of my life and the color turned out weird. Not to mention, the color took 2.5 hours! I left that place looking like a hockey player wearing a helmet. The layers were done exactly wrong. The stylist tapered the bejesus out of the ends, but left the upper layers untouched - exactly the opposite of what I wanted. It turned out to be about 3 inches shorter than I wanted, the bangs were cut WAY too square and wide. I think I look like Janice from Three's company - in the later episodes.

As for the color - not only did the colorist take a decade to color it (granted my hair was extremely short by the time the stylist had gotten through with it), but she had forgotten to color something and ended up quickly doing this after I had gotten my hair rinsed. I was sitting at the rinse station for half an hour with my head bent back and neck aching. When I finally saw the result, it looked like I had gray hair growing out of the sides and dark hair everywhere else. I look terrible and I am considering getting extensions, which will cost me another $500!

So much for asking for the most experience stylists and colorists. I might as well have gone to the Aveda school for the service and result I got.

• Pros: the shampoo and conditioner smelled nice - oh, and there is ample free parking
• Cons: chaotic atmosphere, mediocre service, very expensive for what you get, hard to see sign from the road

a few words for some stupid people.....

Paris Parker is a great salon. Everyone has bad days and you are not able to please everyone. For all the negative people that have written on here i really hope you can get a life. One other thing, only if you ask for the cheapest people to do your hair will you get a less experienced person.

LACK OF QUALITY

PARIS PARKER SALONS LACK QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THEIR SALONS. THE MAJORITY OF THE STAFF IS UNTRAINED AND HAS NO EXPERIENCE. STUDENTS ARE RIGHT OUT OF SCHOOL. AVEDA COLOR IS HORRIBLE. IT FADES AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY SHINE. THE ONLY THING GOING FOR THEM IS AVEDA PRODUCTS AND YOU CAN GET AVEDA ANY WHERE THESE DAYS. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP SEARCHING, THEIR ARE ALOT OF OTHER GREAT SALONS AND TALENT IN THE AREA.
