Best pizza in Baton Rouge
by Michael James Coogan MD at Citysearch
Best pizza in Baton Rouge! Great neighborhood joint.
Not impressed.

I too have heard that this is the best place for pizza in Baton Rouge, but I was disappointed in the pizza, service, and atmosphere.
Not the best in Baton Rouge I hope...

I was in Baton Rouge recently and when I inquired about having "the Best Pizza in Baton Rouge" for dinner I was repeatedly told to try "Fleur De Lis". I must admit that I consider myself a pizza snob. I have made it a personal mission to eat pizza from every part of the world that I travel to. If you have grown up eating Fleur De Lis Pizza then nothing I say will change your mind about their pizza, and that's fine because it's what you know and like. I however, did not care for it. The crust was under cooked and otherwise unremarkable, I enjoyed the sauce because it was not the typical Louisiana spicy cajun influenced sauce that I have encountered over and over in Louisiana, but sadly, there was not enough sauce. The toppings were acceptable. If one wanted to recreate this pizza experience one only need go to a grocery store and purchase a frozen "Tony's Pepporoni and Sausage Pizza", (be sure to under cook the crust), and you could achieve the same culinary results minus of course the atmosphere that I found to be quite speacial. It reminded me of the neighborhood corner tavern of days gone by. Cudos for having a pinball machine, jukebox, Coke in bottles and plenty of drunk'in LSU fans for entertainment.
- Pros: Fun atmosphere
- Cons: The pizza, the wait, drunken LSU fans behind us
Below avg pizza, save your money on something with substance and actually edible

I have lived in 33 states, and have been to hundreds of pizza establishments. I moved to BR in 2004.
I asked around for what is a good pizza joint in BR. I had at least 9 people indicate that either they had Fleur-de-lis pizza or heard that is was really good.
I called a minimum of 35 times in 20 minutes and received a busy signal. Finally was able to order.
Arrived after 45min (22 miles from home) and the pizza was still not ready.
When I received the pizza was tiny, the weight of it made me feel that there was literally nothing in the box.
I paid my 36 dollars and went home.
No one in our family enjoyed the pizza. It is extremely doughy, not in a Pizza Hut sense of doughy, but as another user described, a biscuit type doughy and very dry.
There was very little sauce, even though I requested for 2x the sauce, sparse topping.
In fairness, I haven't come across any pizza in BR that is above average. But I am a very picky pizza person.
Do save your money, and opt for a store bought pizza before wasting this much money on this place and their sub par pizza.
- Pros: None that I can see
- Cons: Must spend money on something because the building and landscaping look awful
Good place for takeout
by emilynf1 at Citysearch
I've never been inside to eat because the restaurant isn't in the best condition but they have some of the best pizza in town. It's a good price for the amount and quality you get - great idea for family takeout where everyone likes something different. Be sure to try one of their original recipes
- Pros: Awesome pizza
- Cons: Restaurant a little run down
Exceptionally Rude Service, Manager
by bernadette49 at Citysearch
Terrible place. One way or another, they will get your money out of you. If you experience rude service and try to leave (even though you have not received your food yet) - beware of the resident cop in the parking lot who will come inside and make you pay. If you're reading this and chuckling to yourself - we were once regular customers too. It doesn't matter. I will never set foot in this establishment again. It's a shame when a restaurant becomes so popular that they can be arrogant and rude to customers, knowing it will not hurt their business.
- Pros: The pizza is decent
- Cons: Horrible service, rude staff
Best pizza in town
by notjack at Citysearch
The building's not fancy, no bells & whistles, but this is great pizza! I think its the best in baton rouge. Its nice that its not one of the big chains, and it has its own unique and delicious taste.
- Pros: taste!
Move on, nothing to see here - slow service, greasy pizza, rude manager.

Can you tell from the title that I am not thrilled with this establishment?
The past two times I have gone to eat here it took nearly one hour to get our food. There were only 10 people in the place and it still took almost one hour. Lord only knows what they were doing.
Once the hour passes you will be rewarded with cheap greasy pizza.
Don't bother complaining, you will get no appologies from management. The woman manager will just tell you to leave if you don't like it. That is what we did and have not been back ever since.
Since the hurricane several other small pizza places have opened up that are not on everyones radar yet. You should go hunting for those places instead of doing business with this grumpy greasy hole in the wall.
Real ROMAN pizza

don't expect to get jalapenos or pineapple or any of that stuff. What you will get is the great tasting pizza at a great price!

Was not all it was made out to be. Crust was like it was made with biscuit dough and could not get jalapenos added to the pizza. Sorry but I feel I will pass if invited there again. It took almost 1 hour from order time till our table was served.
- Pros: location, parking
- Cons: limited menu, service time
