Manager Needs Brain. We are never going back. After fifteen years of patronage we just had the most unbelievable experience. The two of us took a table for four outside. The place is seat yourself. First the waitress asked us to sit at the bar instead. When we told her we didn't want to sit at the bar we wanted to stay at a table. She said well the manager will come over. I couldn't believe it but he did. He told us "four tops were reserved for four" if we didn't move we would have to leave. I told him if we left we were never coming back. He shrugged his shoulders as if he could care less. As long as he is manager we are never going to set foot inside that place again. We suggest that you don'e either.

For seafood on a budget, look no further. Shrimp po'boys and tangy hamburgers are the staples of George's, all offered at a cheap price. Also on the menu are enormous seafood platters, served with soup or cheese fries covered in Tony Chachere's. Once their Cajun cravings are satisfied, most guests stick around for cheap draft beer. College students and 30-somethings alike gather here to hang out and drink while watching the big game on the TVs.

Great food-Good value. I've been going to the original George's for years (decades) even when Ruby's occupied the building. Everything is terrific (seems like the quality of meat in the burgers may have slipped, but unless you're a regular, you probably don't notice)...MUST HAVE Cheese Fries with Jalapenos even if your meal comes with fries already. Catfish platter is outstanding...also very good are fried mushrooms (VERY HOT inside), lunch plates (try to go on pork roast and mashed potato day), other seafood, club sandwiches, all poboys, etc...and cold brewskies! Casual place suitable for a date (probably not first date), the guys after a game...even bring kids.
