Seafood >Captain D's Seafood
closed, but not forgotten. We ate at this restaurant for well over 20 years. They are now closed. We miss them so much! We loved to visit Valerie and Stephanie and get our Captain D's "fix". They knew our entire family. After they left, the restaurant was not the same. It went down fast. Just yesterday on our vacation we visited a Captain D's in Pensacola, FL and it was as great as we remember! They still greet you with a hello the minute you walk in the door!
Fast food seafood and Southern fare with all the trimmings at reasonable prices..
What started off in Donelson, Tenn. as "Mr. D's" in 1969 has evolved into fast food chain "Captain D's" with restaurants across more than 20 states. Touting high quality and quick-service seafood and traditional Southern fare as its mission, the menu offers hand-battered fried, baked, broiled fish, shrimp and chicken dishes. Starters include cheese sticks and jalapeno bites, seafood-stuffed crab shells and side items like corn, baked potato, coleslaw, tossed salads, hushpuppies and desserts.
Bad Service and No Professionalism.
2 Stars are for the good food ONLY! The service and professionalism at this Captain D's is LACKING. During my recent visits to the chain restaurant I observed several employees on their cell phones, 1 female employee behind the counter talking about needing a raise, Loud rap music coming from the kitchen, several employees eating (bread sticks) and drinking behind the counter, very slow getting orders out, and the girl taking my order couldn't remember a simple drink without asking me 3 times. They also fixed my order incorrectly and the guy in the kitchen argued about it with the girl that took my order (it was his fault).
IF YOU MUST VISIT CAPTAIN D'S (drive-thru or inside) BE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE FOOLISHNESS.
I don't know what the policies are at the Captain D's but they need to be enforced. Otherwise this seems like a great party place to work for.
