I had the exact same experience with
Kaitlyn. I have brown hair (natural hair color) and caramel and light brown highlights. I left there with a huge patch of extreme blonde on the back of my head and chunks of random patches of blonde underneath. I looked hideous. I know this cause my then 7 year old son asked me "was I in a circus?". I have been a patron of Paris Parker ever since they built that place, originally as lockworks and then it became Paris Parker (13-15 years).
I had a young lady who was awesome color my hair for 5+ years until she couldnt take the drama with the staff and she ended up quitting. We became good friends, so I would travel to to where her new job was at, cause she was the best.
Eventually, I found someone at Paris Parker that was referred to me by a dear friend (Tuyen) who also happened to be the girl that had been cutting my hair for years. Her name was Leanne and she did color so well, until she had enough of her peers and quit unexpectedly.
Then my friend Tuyen relocated so I could not even get my haircut there. (Tuyen had cut my hair for 10+ years)
Long story short the staff bounced me around to different people who were trainees, telling me that they were experienced professionals. NOT.... most of them were amateurs.
I have never complained in 15+ years, but after I paid $150 to walk out there looking like a clown for the 3rd time. I had to notify someone as clearly the staff had NO CLUE.
I talked with a lady named 'Angela Commander' and like her last name she ran a tight ship when it came to customer service and satisfaction. She was so sweet and understanding, and did not quit until making it right with a veteran customer like me.
I get my hair cut by Lillian who is Super and has been there for over 10 years. And thank God for Anna who does my color and has been there for almost 5 years. Anna is the Best for color and Lillian for haircut.
Im glad I didnt give up on Paris Parker.
Oh and Kaitlyn is still there....ughhhh
Coloring and highlights. I usually do not write reviews but I have had a horrid experience recently getting coloring and highlights at this location. I was guided to Kaitlyn for mine. She seemed inexperienced . I wonder if Aveda salons allow them to use boars bristle brush to be used mercilessly on dripping wet hair so much so that your head is yanked back while they do it. She did that to mine. She washed my hair in the sink like you would treat a washcloth and used the boars bristle brush even after I specifically told her NOT TO. Hair is like silk and should be treated gently. Not ever going back for anything . It is always better to ask who is going to do your hair and how you need it done should also be written down. ( it requires patience and one needs to love what she/he is doing in order to the right job) My hair broke and fell a lot even after i came home. Completely disappointed!!!! Anyways Goodluck. ....I will be doing my own hot oil treatments and silk peptide treatments to strengthen them and it will take some time. One Day of Coloring and Brushing there has made sure I do not trust my hair in anyone's hands anymore.
The Most Beautiful Highlights Ever!.
I recently visited Paris Parker to get a haircut and highlights. I told the receptionist that I wanted my highlights the little tiny strands that looks very natural. She sent me to Anna. I am so glad she did! I have had my hair highlighted dozens of times over the last 30 years and no one even came close to the excellent job Anna did. They are gorgeous and look SO natural. I have had so many compliments.
The only negative was my haircut didn't happen. They came to me after my highlights were done and said Jamie was running late. It would be 45 minutes to an hour before she could even start on me. I canceled that appt. and rescheduled. Two days before my re-scheduled appt. Jamie canceled my haircut again. I am now two months out from my original highlights, and I still haven't had a haircut.
I may not be getting my haircuts at Paris Parker, but I would not go to ANYONE but Anna for my highlights. She is friendly, professional and does an incredible job. I have never been so pleased with a salon experience.
Unprofessional, "zoo-like" atmosphere. The staff is very unprofessional. Went for a mani-pedi. Technician put my feet in scalding hot water and then something to one of my toes that made it hurt very badly for over 3 weeks! Attempted to make an appt. with a different tech. Arrived for my appt on time and after waiting for over 30 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be, only to be told that they had screwed up and it would be even longer to wait. Needless to say, I left and will NOT go back! The staff runs around and/or stands around without a clue!
Highlighting Hair.
Yesterday I saw Jennifer for a highlight --high and low--In my opinion it is probably one of the worse treatments I ever received. The hair is all 'blotchey' in some areas --in the high/low presentation I usually ask that it be always alittle lighter than darker--this was not the case --I now have spotty-red-tone-hair-with maybe one or two highlights hair pieces.
After paying $150.00 plus a small tip I feel Jennifer did not live up to my expectations and I would advise you to ask questions and find out about the person who is going to do your color.
(I have seen Jennifer before --but not again) The experience was a zero--
Great pedicures. Pat gave me a great pedicure! I highly reccomend her. Also got a hot neck pillow and hot tea.
Well traveled in the pampering world. I don't usually leave reviews, but since someone was untactful and said names, I'm impelled to do so. Especially, since one name she mentioned happens to be a young lady that impressed me more then once. I travel often and receive spa services from varies cities. Baton Rouge being one of my more dull stops I always have time to indulge or freshen up. First off, Let me say that Mary at Paris Parker is hands down one of the best brazilian waxer's I've had wax me. If you have ever been waxed you'd know it's uncomfortable and she makes you feel at ease with ultimately doing a thorough job. Secondly, Ive received 3 facails and each time she went over time. She explained how they are given extra time on their books after each facial for cleaning up and often uses it. That doesn't sound like a person who would do a 40 minute facial. Thirdly, you'd be an idiot not to pay $24 for their brow service. I have seen a variety of their girls(Mary, Linda, Sasha, and exct..) for brows and have been beyond pleased every time. I first received compliments on my brows when they did them. I've been getting my brows done since a teenager and have never been complimented till they touched them. I've had great experiences!
horrible customer service and overpriced. I have been going to Paris Parker for many years now and the customer service and spa services are only going downhill. i used to get my waxing and facials done by Thi who was very sweet, and attentive....unfortunately she resigned and i'm still trying to locate her. I tried many of the other girls and everyone you go to is very inconsistent with their facials. i once went in for a 60 minute facial with Mary and came out 40 minutes later.. i felt very rushed and another time i heard my facialist Maggie talk bad about me to the other workers when she thought the door was closed! i have yet to come back and have told everyone i know that the services are not up to par.
Great haircut and color. I went in for the first time recently, I love AVEDA and just moved to town. I checked around and decided to go to Jami and Lauren at the Paris Parker Spa on Jefferson Hwy. These ladies did an amazing job and were very professional! Thanks!
Peter is Awesome. I have been getting my hair cut with Peter at the Jefferson location for 3 years now. Even after moving to Texas, I still come back in at least twice a year to have him cut it. He is a perfectionist, and probably, hands-down the best layering/blending/texturizer out there. After straying a couple of times (out of local convenience), I have come to appreciate his talents even more, and the level of detail he puts into his work.
