LOVE THIS PLACE.
This is the best restaurant in baton rouge. My husband and I come here often, we have never been dissatisfied with the food and service. Both are excellent, highly recommend!

NOT all it's cracked up to be....
I really don't get how people can say that this is absolutely the best sushi restaurant around. Obviously these people haven't eaten elsewhere. I have eaten at several sushi restaurants across the country and this ranks VERY low on the scale. Even for Baton Rouge it is low on the scale. It seems as though every time I order from Kamados on College, the sashimi is HORRID!! It is always slimy and extremely fishy smelling. If anyone knows anything about sushi, you would know that these two things mean that the fish is OLD. Personally, I don't want to eat old fish, let alone, eat it RAW. Granted, the service is great, but that cannot make up for the grades and condition s of fish they are serving. If you have a choice, don't go here.

Go to the Sherwood location.
If you have a choice, please go to the other location. They are great there, and their sushi is always so delicious. At this location, I got sushi that was very bland and a restaurant that could've been cleaner.

dead on.
Kamado is head and shoulders above any one else in Baton Rouge. No one else's grade of sushi compares. The newer location off College Drive is incredible and the older location off Sherwood has NEVER serve me a piece of Sushi I couldn't eat
The new sushi spot down town is nothing more than that, a new spot.....The new hang out for wanttobe rich kids to eat sushi. Great view of old muddy mississippi river at night. Sushi was less than sushi grade IMO.

WOW!.
As an avid fan of The Iron Chef, I had been dying to find an authentic Japanese Restaurant. Kamado's is that and more. I had no idea what anything was, and the staff went out of their way to explain the dishes to me. They helped me decide what I would like best, and exactly how I was supposed to use chop sticks. I really felt like I had traveled across the ocean, and landed in Japan.
