Excellent!. It was awesome, all food and service exceptional. We had a party of 20 and everyone had a great time and the food and staff were fantastic. Can't wait to go again!
Past it's prime.
Sullivan's used to be good... even great. The steaks were amazing, the service wonderful, and the atmosphere relaxing. All that's gone. They've clearly hired a very young serving staff, and they don't know what they're doing.
We started with crab claws for an appetizer. They were tasteless and obviously frozen. Very difficult to get out of the claw. We made a mess of the table struggling with them (shell everywhere). They picked up the plates but didn't bother to clean anything up. Come on... this is supposed to be fine dining. Even if we were stupid and made a mess, how about making an attempt to clean it up?
Two of us ordered medium well steak. One came rare and had to be sent back. Of course it returned well done. Mine came VERY unevenly cooked. Parts were well done, parts were rare.
The waitress was very nice, but disappeared for 15-20 minutes at a time. We said with empty drinks for far too long.
My rule in Baton Rouge used to be: Flemings first, then Sullivans, then Ruth Chris's. Ruth's just got bumped up a notch by default.
Not worth the visit!. First of all we had reservations, after waiting 40 minutes we inquired about the status of our table, the girl said she thought we had already been seated! We waited another 25 minutes in the bar with a crowd that looked as if they were looking for a one night stand. All 6 of us agreed the food was over priced for quality of steaks we were served, the waitress wore barmaid uniforms and were uneducated about wine in general, felt like we were eating in a loud nightclub. Also, it was tough find a descent parking spot. We were ready to leave by the end. I have been to other Sullivan's that were good......unfortunately this one I wouldn't recommend.
Great steakhouse atmosphere. I like sullivans for the atmosphere. The food is top notch as well. The bar is always crowded with a professional clientel and has nice music playing most nights. They also have a seperate bar called Ring side, where they have bands and dancing. A perfect date night combination.
Great Place to Dine. From the moment I walked in, it was such an exquisite experience. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I would definately recommend Sullivan's!
It was OK. To start off parking is horrible. The bar was the best part of the experience. Try the "Knockout" martini. The service was very slow and the waiter did not take our order correctly. The wine was a little over priced compared to other steak houses. The steaks were average.
Move over Ruth. My wife and I started off in the bar when we heard the live jazz as we entered. Our cocktailer recommended the house drink, The Knockout, which is somekind of pineapple martini, it was excellent. We then went into their beautiful dining room with an open kitchen on one end and a huge wine celler on the other. It had the feel of one of those old Chicago style steakhouses you see in the movies. Our meal was tremendous from their house salad(wedge of iceburg with Blue Cheese) to the best steak I ever had. Our server was a little late getting to us in the begining due to a big table she was serving next to us but finished strong and was very friendly. The wine list has to be one of the best in Baton Rouge.
