Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides..
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.

Living here most my life I can give you a Baton Rouge resident's view. I travel a lot for business and have dined at Ruth's Chris all over the country...this one is all around poor in comparison. The steaks at this one are OK quality, no seasoning only cooked with lots and lots of butter. The decor is VERY, VERY, VERY dated, stuffy with low ceilings and an unclean feel. The service is good. It is just not a wonderful steakhouse and you can find other great fine dining steakhouses in Baton Rouge.
Go to any other Ruth's Chris for a nice experience this one is sad.

Expensive meal but worth it.
This place is good for a special occasion or a business lunch. The steak is out of this world and cooked just as you like it. Everything was really fresh, including the sides and appetizers we ordered. This place is a bit pricey though so I wouldn't go there regularly.

The TRUTH about Ruth Chris steak house.
If you want to severely overpay for a inferior steak, then go ahead and go there. If you want your food served barely above temperature and tasteless, then go ahead and go there. If you want to be served by snobs who act like they're doing you a favor, then go ahead and go there. If you want to dine with people who think their food is wonderful soley because they paid so much for it, then go ahead and go there.
