In Short – Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- If you're not a fan of Foster's, try another Australian beer: Newcastle Brown Ale.
average steakhouse - nice atmosphere

My first and last meal at Outback Steakhouse.
Not enough light to read the menu.
I was expecting filet mignon, but the Victoria's "center cut" filet had a hunk of gristle on one end - otherwise good.
Additional lobster tail for $7.99 could have passed for a large crawfish.
- Pros: nice ambience and service
- Cons: average food
