Best salsa, freshest tasting fajitas, refried beans, huevos rancheros, black bean soup, etc. etc. Great service, too.

I have been here twice now, the first time was okay, kinda busy. The food was average, the wait staff was slow. My sister loves the place and she wanted to go saturday before the LSU game (which they won). We arrived just after the lunch rush so we figured we would be in and out pretty quick, wrong. They start out by putting 8 people at a 4' round table. This would be okay if we were only a party of 5, but not 8 especially at a Mexican restaurant. Then we each have water glasses, which is fine but after he brought out our regular glasses and refills we had over 20 glasses on the table with 2 baskets of chips and no room what so ever for our meal. So instead of taking some of the excess off he brings our lunch out. we have so little room now that we have to hold our plates. Still not getting the hint I got up and started putting glasses which were not being used onto his service tray as well as the baskets of chips. He then turned to us and said can i get you anything else. He was clueless!
Now for the meal, me and my brother both had the chicken fajitas because you can't really go wrong with that. Wrong again. They were not sizzleling at all infact the black plate they come on was luke warm if best. The vegetables were all the same color, you couldn't tell the difference between the onions and the bell peppers. The chicken had an unusual amount of fat on it, I had never had fajitas with fat on them, it was disgusting. By far the worst fajitas i have ever had, and to top it all off there was only like 4 little strips of chicken on a broken plate. There are so many other Mexican restaurants to try in Baton Rouge than to ever go back to this place. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because my sister loves the place. If anyone else has had a bad experience or is just looking for another place close to this area try Cozumel by the mall of cortana. The food is much better and the service is genuine.
- Pros: It's kid friendly, because it is a very loud place. Good place to party
- Cons: Food was bad, service was robotic not personal nor problem solving
Awesome Service

Forgive me, but being a black woman myself, I found the comment posted by JENA6 laughible. Yes, racism does exist. However, it is primarily due to people who like to USE it to benefit themselves. I have been a resident of Baton Rouge since Katrina, having lived in what is considered the not-so-good part of town. As a dedicated visitor to Superior Grill, I can honestly say I have NEVER had a problem being served because of the color of my skin. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is up-beat and friendly. If someone has a chip on their shoulder and they expect the world to fix it, get over yourself. The world owes you nothing. Treating others with respect will send you the same reward in return. That manager was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly. Shame on you for making racism a problem wherever you go. You are obviously not from around here and I hope you never return. Keep your trouble making to yourself JENA6.
