We've been coming to Don's for a while now. Enjoying everything we've ordered so far. The service is very good. If there is any problem with anything, the staff takes care of the matter. We'll be back!

Yes 5 stars! Emily and Westley they are the BEST!! They worked as a team and that's what I enjoy the most! Always smiles. No matter how my day has been I know that once I sit at the bar (even without taking a drink) the days worries/stress will soon fade away! They are the greatest! They are truly an asset to your restaurant!

Old Fashioned and Pleasant.. Don’s is a fine old Baton Rouge Roadhouse type seafood and steak place. I have dined here since 1972. You have to learn the menu to know what to order, but, when you do, you will enjoy repeatedly and consistently outstanding meals. Oysters-on-the half-shell and hushpuppies are the foundations here.

I think it is a least one of the two best places in the city for oysters on the half shell. Once it was the only place.

In season, boiled crayfish is fantastic but with hot spice. Some of the dishes hark to the forties; they are not exactly what we like today, but the cooks follow the old recipes to the letter. That makes sides dishes fun.

The gumbo is a Cajun gumbo, thick and full of good seafood. The salads that people bemoan not getting were dreadful forties fare with iceberg and indiffrent dressings. I was glad ot see them go.

The place is always very clean. The service is friendly but professional. The only reason I don't give it a five is that some recent additions to our city are in a league of their onw. But this is a wonderful restaurant.

Not as good as it used to be!. I can not believe that they don't serve salads or coleslaw on a seafood dinner. You would think that they would considering the high prices. They cut out the salads and yet went up on prices. Too BAD! They also serve a seafood platter WITHOUT OYSTERS! Hey people this is Louisiana not a northern business. That is something you would expect from the Yankees. Out rageous not to have oysters. The price is not even listed on the menu for oysters, just market price, what gives with that. I have been to many seafood restaurants in the area and they all put their prices even if they write it in seasonal. Wont be back sorry Landry Family, you are not the same as the ole DON'S SEAFOOD we remember!

Great food. I have eaten at Dons for forty years. In that time it has remained fairly consistant with the quality of its food. The shrimp and crab gumbo is one of the best in town. The crawfish bisque, in season, may be the best in Louisiana. The bisque gravy is thick and flavorful with lots of tails and stuffed heads. Recently my wife and I both ordered the Fried Shrimp platter and were amazed at the number of shrimp that were served. There were large and fried perfectly. We both had to get a to go box. The hushpuppies were hot and delicious. The only setback was Dons management decision several years ago not to provide a dinner salad with every entree. This has to be ordered seperately. Other than that it gets two thumbs up on being the bedrock of Baton Rouge dining for all these many years.
