A Home Favorite. I used to eat at Louie's during my college years back in 1999-2000. There was nothing like walking over from our late nights at The Varsity to chow on Louie's fare. Now, having moved out of state, anytime I make a return trip home I always re-visit this favorite of mine...and, occasionally, a lucky friend of mine will get to experience it as well, and the end result is always the same...WE LOVE THIS PLACE. I don't care about the lines, or the cramped space...I care about the people, and the awesome diner/greasy spoon/ made with love food that comes from that kitchen. The hashbrowns cooked with green peppers and smothered with cheese are my ultimate, and nothing anywhere else even comes close. This is a little piece of home that I'll always remember and try continuously to spread the word about to anyone who will listen. Thanks for the memories made and memories yet to come, Louie's!!!!

Best place for late-night food and hangout. Most times I've gone to Louie's it's been late at night with a group of friends. It's always jam-packed on the late weekend nights. The food is so good, especially their potatoes - cooked anyway you like them smothered in any number of ingredients. The omelets are also always fresh and tasty.

Meet "Frenchie" and Enjoy the Local Greasy Spoon. Every college town needs its local greasy spoon, where students can chow down on a burger and fries after partying till dawn and where the line is out the door for Sunday brunch. Although it would not stand up to competition (if it had any), Louie's is just that place for LSU and Baton Rouge. The omelettes are excellent, especially with the rich, fluffy homemade biscuits. I've only had dinner there once (a burger) and was not impressed. The food is a bit pricey for what you get: the "Seafood Louie" is $11, which does not compare well with the Shrimp and Crawfish Omlette at IHOP, only $8 and including pancakes. However, nothing beats "Frenchie," the main cook, muttering nonsense in his thick Cajun accent and responding boisterously to predictable proddings from his kitchen team behind the counter.

Late night party. Louies is open 24 hours and thats what its most well known for. After going out, this place becomes the hot spot. The breakfast is good, the coffee is great.
