Highland coffees is the best coffee shop in Baton Rouge: 1. they roast their own coffee beans and the result is the best cup of coffee you have ever had 2. the service is impeccable 3. the clientele is eclectic, interesting and very open - I have made so many friends at Highland 4. the desserts are moist and home-made 5. the ceilings are high and there is a ton of natural light

I have been to many coffee shops in Paris,France and now in austin texas where i live and none can combine the classy atmosphere with fantastic coffee of Highlands coffee. First it is rare to find a coffee shop that roasts its own beans everyday and even those that do don't produce such wonderful even flavored coffee and the always friendly staff keep me comign back, when I am driving the seven hours to get to BR for a visit Highlands is first and foremost in my mind. Most coffee shops over charge for coffee you can get anywhere Highlands actually has its own quality that i have personally been unable to match even in Austin a town known for its coffee shops.
