Denham Springs Animal Hospital. I also will never board my pets with them again. My dad lefty his dog with them when he went out of town for work. He got ill while there, so his dog was left for a few weeks. By the time we got her, she looked anorexic with her ribs and hips poking out. I also agree that the staff is wretched!! They actually made the comment, "I'm glad y'all came to get her, she was starting to look pathetic." Hello!! That's your responsibility to keep her healthy!! Your are and animal hospital for crying out loud!! No one ever contacted us about her. We went on our own at a time that worked for our schedule. We did not know she was suffering while there or we would have gotten her much sooner. Unbelievably irresponsible and cruel neglect!!

Great Doctors but Terrible Staff and Dangerous Boarding. Great doctors but the worst staff possible. Boarded my dog here for 4 days and she came back with a Urinary Tract Infection, skin lesions, both eyes weeping and infected and hair missing from around her snout. I complained and they tried to charge me another $65 just to get a doctor to see her for the problems their neglect caused. She was supposed to be groomed/bathed and guess what? They forgot. Plus, she had mysteriously lost 2 lbs. This was just over a 4 day period. Seems like they forgot she was even there. Needless to say, we are no longer bringing any of our animals to this place. I am exploring my options for formal complaints to whatever regulatory agency handles vet hospital licensing here in Louisiana and may even consider legal action. Stay away from this place.

Dr. Yarnall great if you can get passed rude front desk. I have gone here for years and Dr. Susan Yarnall is one of the best vets I have ever had and I have 3 dogs so I see her at least 3 times per year. Only gets 2 stars however because of rude front office staff. Amazing that they screwed up my prescriptions not once but twice causing me to make 2 unnecessary trips up there because they refuse to fax or approve prescriptions over the phone. The employee gave me attitude and never once apologized. Incredibly poor customer service skills.

One concerned customer. My girlfriend and I have 2 kittens. They're about 11 weeks old.We had gotten them at about 6 weeks old in st martinville from an older woman. They seemed healthy for 1 month and then one started to pee blood.Shed still play regularly and eat and drink like a healthy kitten would.Alarmed,we took her and her sister to this vet about a week and a half ago.We asked for an examination on both, but a urinalysis on the one peeing blood.

The treatment of us and animals were legitimate, but we were told her bladder was too small for a urinalysis,as well as the examination of her was not routine. There were no observations made to her aside from squeezing her belly and giving us biomox (amoxicilin strictly for dogs). We had a different vet from this place examine the healthier one, this vet actually did a routine examination.Needle in the but, checking the ears,Everything that follows under examination.

MY COMPLAINTS ARE:

1.Neglect.This veterinarian clinic neglected my animal in giving her Biomox,a form of amoxicilin, made strictly for use on dogs.Which can seriously injure the organs of a feline.-malpractice-

2.Unfair treatment between my 2 kittens. Its questionable why they didn't get the same treatment when i asked for the same form of treatment.

3.An lack off effort and communication to help the kitten. The vet could have gotten a urine sample someway, the kitten had to pee anyway.

NOW.The kitten is having muscle spasms,is laying down more than playing, peeing blood again, and cries tears from her eyes.

I AM NOT PLEASED.We are bringing her back tomorrow and discussing what has happened, and see what comes of it.

I will report back after.

If something fatal comes of this and/or we have a problem with service,we will file a suit and deal with legal matters.

Dr. Welch. I just took a stray cat that my family has sort of adopted in for some care. The service was awesome, the place was very clean, and Dr. Welch was very nice. The prices are also very affordable. The thing I liked most of all was how relaxed the atmosphere was for a vet. My cat was injured and I was worried that the stress of waiting with other pets around would aggravate him worse, but the environment was quiet and orderly. It isn't typical to go to a vet and see zero stressed pets. I did go very early in the morning however (7am) so I can't speak for later in the day.
