Great Sushi, Great Experience. For the last three years I have been privileged to be invited to join my boyfriends family in their summer house in Baton Rouge. This past year I began working at Sushi Sasa in Denver, CO and have since become very interested in sushi across the states. I must say that Hello Sushi does not disappoint! I was a little hesitant to try sushi in Louisiana, but Hello Sushi changed my mind. The atmosphere was hip and exciting featuring TV lined walls and japanese pop music and anime style. The clever mix of tradition sushi with more southern style (I tried crawfish in my sushi!!!) brought a smile to my face and a great memory to my trip. I will definitely be back next time I?m in the area.
Fabulous food, service and atmosphere!. We are huge fans! We love going here because of their very UNIQUE rolls and fun atmosphere. Our favorites are the Evangeline, the Paradise and the Johnny Roll. The service is friendly and helpful. It's so refreshing to find something so different in Baton Rouge. Highly recommended!!!
This upbeat sushi bar boasts a unique variety of rolls and entrees topped with a heavy dose of mainstream Japanese pop culture..
In Short
Hello Sushi resembles a trendy downtown Tokyo hangout more so than it does a restaurant in southern Louisiana. The TVs that line the walls blare Japanese pop videos and the menus look as if they're right out of an anime cartoon. The authentic Japanese sushi guarantees something brand new even for the veteran sushi eater, such as the original "Hello Sushi Roll" or the zesty "Rock 'n Roll". Although Hello Sushi is definitely oriented towards a younger crowd looking for a happening dinner joint, it's worth a try for any sushi lover.
Fun place to eat but sushi is just okay. Hello Sush is all about mainstream Japanese pop culture. Their TVs constantly play music videos and their sushi has funny and commercial names. They have a few unique dishes here but none of them are out of this world. For the price you're expected to pay, you could have twice the amount at Ichiban's with half the taste. Definitely a place to try once or twice, but isn't the best in town.
