BEST in Baton Rouge. We got there with no reservation on a Saturday night and had a table in about 10min. The food was excellent and the staff was terrific. Busy and Expensive but Good. A warming - Flemmings is very busy on the weekend. My husband and I had reservations on a Saturday but when we got there, they said that we would still have about an hour wait. We were not willing to wait when we had confirmed reservations and almost did not come back (I have heard this complaint from others, so perhaps they need to be more accurate with their reservation scheduling).

I don't think I would ever go back on the weekend. Luckily we came back on a weeknight and the results were much better.

We found the staff to be quite attentive yet not overly so. Just the right level for the type of place and price level. A lovely starter of cheese spread, tapinade and crudite was delivered and we were given time to make our choice. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly - a rare thing (no pun intended) in the restaurants I've tried. The sides we got were also good. The homemade bread was the best I'd ever had in a restaurant - crisp on the outside but chewy on the inside. We have been a few times now and the food has never disappointed.

Flemmings is not a cheap night out, especially if you want wine with your dinner (it IS a wine bar as well as a steakhouse!) so expect a decent dent in the wallet. I never mind the occasional splure if the food is worth the price and in my opinion, Flemmings IS worth the price.…
