My mother and I have been doing extensive research on the numerous sties available for weddings and receptions in Baton Rouge for the past several months. After hours of careful considerations and several phone calls, we narrowed our search to three possibilities and set up appointments to visit this past weekend. In all honesty, Oak Lodge was our outside consideration. Mom had her heart set on the location that we were to see last and I had mine set on the one that we were to see second. Oak Lodge was our first appointment. In fact, the only reason that I kept the appointment was that when I called, I was able to hear an enthusiastic voices on the phone that seemed to be sincerely interested in having me come in to look around.

As we climbed in the car after leaving our last appointment my mother and I both immediately agreed that we needed no further time to decide…nothing could top Oak Lodge. Here’s why…

Oak Lodge was the most elegant facility. It is best suited to handle both a wedding and reception with no long awkward room turnover time at a very reasonable price. No other facility with which I spoke or that I visited offered to tailor anything to my day. What I saw was what I got unless I wanted to pay for outside professionals to come in and change things.

However, all these things aside, our biggest selling point…Dona and all the other staff. From the moment we walked in we were attended to and made to feel important (as was everyone who walked through the door). We never felt as if we were one of many or that whether or not we booked our event with Oak Lodge was of little importance. (I was shocked with the apathy at other locations!)

The excitement, the professionalism, and the attention to individual detail are all the qualities for which I was looking and I am thrilled with my decision. I look forward to my wedding. Thank you so much for a pleasant experience and I’m excited to have all of you work with me on the most important event of my life so far!!

Many thanks for all of your efforts on behalf of Cox Media last week. The incredible food and beautiful atmosphere went a long way in demonstrating Cox Media’s attention to detail. We wanted to take a little time to thank you both (as well was all of your staff) for such a wonderful evening. I know that you probably receive letters like this all the time, but the more you get, the better it looks! Dona, I must say, based on my other trips to Oak Lodge, you really outdid yourself. Everyone is still raving about the overall settings and especially the food. Everything that you all did to make our night wonderful and memorable was certainly appreciated! Thanks again and hopefully we’ll be back in a few years for a Bishop Sullivan reunion.

You guys helped make our wedding the event of the year! Thank you. The facility was decorated perfectly, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. We love you guys!

Just wanted to say thanks so much for a wonderful banquet. This is the 4th consecutive year that we've had our high school tennis banquet at Oak Lodge and each year it's been a great experience. The reception center is beautiful with the fresh flowers on each table. The atmosphere is just so pleasant. The food is always delicious. The service is excellent. Your attention to detail makes hosting an event at Oak Lodge so easy. I love the fact that I just have to show up and you and your staff have done the rest!



Before I became coach of the tennis team, there was no formal banquet, but rather a get-together in the school cafeteria. The first year we came to Oak Lodge, the kids complained because they were going to have to "dress up" and eat "fancy" food instead of wearing tennis clothes and eating pizza! Of course, the parents were thrilled with our "fancy" banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each year, the kids harass me about the banquet, so this year, I decided to let them vote - Oak Lodge or a casual get-together. Well, when given the choice, the overwhelming majority voted for a nice banquet at Oak Lodge! I was so excited because the banquet is always one of my favorite parts of the tennis season.



Thank you, again, for helping the PBS tennis teams make memories to cherish for a lifetime.

I had knowledge of the awesomeness of Oak Lodge because you did my sister's reception, and choosing Oak Lodge for my wedding and reception was one of the best decisions I ever made. The months of prep were made pretty much stress-free because you took care of all the details--all I had to worry about was the cake, bouquets, and, of course, the dress. Though there were many different coordinators I worked with over the months before my wedding date, each was professional, reassuring, and made me feel confident my dream would be fulfilled, as it most definitely was!

The DJ group you recommended was amazing, the food was incredible-everyone made sure they came up to me to say how wonderful the food was. People were impressed by the efficient way the room was transformed from a wedding into a reception. Every one of my guests had a wonderful time and continue to tell me when i see them how perfect my wedding was. That gave me such a sense of pride that I had to make sure you knew the impact your hard work had on my husband and me. I can look at my wedding album and do nothing but smile, and that was all thanks to you. And best of all, there were no bridezilla moments to be had! I think for any bride that means everything!

Oak Lodge has served as an excellent host for our monthly trade association meetings for the past several years. The atmosphere, food and service has consistantly been terrific over the years. I have attended at least two weddings, several football viewing parties, an anniversary party and also attended a large offsite party which they catered. I would not hesitate to recommend Oak Lodge for any type reception/function/catering event.

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception here. First, let me just say that two weeks before our big day we were all over the place and nothing was really set in stone as to how things were going to play out and if we were going to have a great reception at our previous venue. Through a reference we heard of Oak Lodge and decided to give it a shot! It was the best experience I could ever ask for! From the owner who took us in two weeks (most venues don't allow this) and pulled it off amazingly, to the wonderful staff that treated our guest so wonderful.. I couldn't have picked a better place for my event! From the first time I talked the owner and each time after I was treated as if I was the only bride she was dealing with and that made me feel so special because this was so important to me and she actually cared. Overall, from the food to the service to the venue itself I wouldn't change a thing and if I could do it all over again Oak Lodge would always be my choice. Thanks so much Ms. Dona and the Oak Lodge Team for an experience of a lifetime!

Oak Lodge was wonderful to work with..I planned my wedding fast..on 3 weeks notice and they weren't the first place I looked. After 2 hard, stressful days of calling and setting appointments I ended up going over and the place sold itself! Beautiful..that is what it is..and they were so wonderful to work with. Although my wedding and reception were small by most standards (planned on 80) all of my guests (had 76 show up) had a wonderful time. My mom is still getting calls from relatives that the food was really rich and good. Bryan and I ate on the way to the airport and really were glad to have that huge bag they made for us..they even put fresh rose petals and chocolate dipped strawberries in a container with a nice thank you note. I will always remember my outdoor wedding by candlelight at Oak Lodge!
